Mark Moran
MSc Risk Management (CMIOSH)

Major Emergency Management Response Initial Responder (MEM IR)

Firstly, I’d like to say a grateful “Thank You to OSPR” for selecting me and sponsoring the course costs.

Having just completed the above 4-day course provided by “Restrata” in conjunction with AIS in Aberdeen. It was an enjoyable course, but by design somewhat stressful at times which helped the course to be realistic.

The course was carried out in a location, that provided a very realistic “EEC Simulator”.

The instructors were very knowledgeable, who had the ability to generate a pleasant learning atmosphere. All the instructors & the back-room staff were approachable and very forthcoming with any information to any questions that were asked.

The syllabus was performed to OPITO standards and met all training aims and objectives of those standards.

The course content covered all the roles and responsibilities of the key members of the ERT. All the delegates got the opportunity to play role the various roles, in the simulator.

I would have no concerns to recommend this course, Or the course provider to any individual or company where there’s a requirement for MEMIR knowledge to be established, or revised.

I feel the course would be extremely advantageous to those with ERT responsibilities, those with OIM aspirations prior to them attending OIM Controlling Emergencies course. Or those like myself returning to the Industry following the last downturn.

Again, many thanks to OSPR.

Regards,
Mark Moran MSc (CMIOSH)
